  10. IIB - Imagine Information Base
  11.  
  12. In this two Fiasco-databases you find all imagine-relevant Threads
  13. collected since Sep. 97 on the Imagine Mailing List (IML), with the
  14. informations of the participants.
  15.  
  16. It consists in two parts:
  17.  
  18. WebSites.fdb    A collection of more than 100 IML-Users who has a Hompage
  19.         on the Web.
  20.         Here you find the Name, eMail-address, URL('s) of the
  21.         Homepage ans other informations.
  22.  
  23. IMLThreads.fdb    The effective collection of the Threads from the IML.

  27. Install:
  28. Just unpack this Archive, and open the databases. In this version you don't
  29. need any assignment. You only need to have the Fiasco-software available on
  30. AmiNet in the biz/dbase directory. Read below for more. Before start,
  31. you have to adapt the Default-Tool in the two Icons in the IIB-Folder. So
  32. you can start IIB directly with it.

  34. Usage:
  35. For this databases, you need the Database-program Fiasco from Nils Bandener.
  36. I create the databases with the version 2.11. I recommend to install at least
  37. V2.1. Better is to install the 2.11 patch too. The main program is available
  38. at the at the AmiNet, but the for 2.11 patch you have to got to the 
  39. Fiasco-Homepage at http://www.amigaworld.com/support/fiasco/ .

  41. For the usage of the database, I recommed reading to Fiasco.guide included
  42. in the Fiasco package. But for semplicity here the relevant Shortcuts:

  44. Ctrl-F4        Open the list of the active database.
  45.         Attention: With the IMLThreads.fdb the List slows-down the
  46.         system drammatically. I don't know why this is. I think it
  47.         for the extensive usage of relations in this database.

  49. LAMIGA-E    Open the Search window. The usage is very simple. Select
  50.         the Field that you will search, and type in the word.
  51.  
  52. LAMIGA-=    Sort the List-window in dependence of the selected Field.
  53.  
  54. I don't need more Feature for the use of IIB, but it's possible that I forget
  55. something.

  57. The single Records are sorted in 14 Categories:

  74. Future:
  75. This is the first version of the IIB. So when you find something strong or
  76. wrong in this readme file, please contact me, so that I can correct it in
  77. future version.

  79. Here are the features that I plan to include in future versions:

  81. Update-file:    At this time I think that I can do a monthly update of the
  82.         databases. At this time I will send every month the complete
  83.         package. I found the time to implement it, I will make only
  84.         update packages for those who have already installed the
  85.         IIB.

  87. More-Info:    At this time you see only the Name, URL and the
  88.         eMail-address of the participants. I think to implement a
  89.         gadget for open the WebSites-database in a separate window
  90.         to read all available information about the people.

  92.         You can do it already, but you have to reopen Fiasco
  93.         mannually a second time, and open the database. Why not
  94.         let make this from ARexx?

  96. AmigaGuide-Documentation:
  97.         Write this file in a AmigaGuide-file. I think this would be
  98.         better for reading. I don't create any AmigaGuide-files
  99.         since now. So I think that this need a little bit time for me.

  101. Windows-Version:
  102.         I don't explore the Export-ability of Fiasco since now,
  103.         so I can't predict when I start with this.

  106. Other:
  107. 1.The collection of all information of the IML-Peoples is very difficult, so
  108.   when something is wrong in one the databases, please inform me, so that I
  109.   can correct it, and release it in the next version. I've only include the
  110.   Users with homepages in the WebSites-database. In some records I don't have
  111.   a eMail address. If someone of you can tell me it, please contact me.

  113. 2.A large amount of the Peoples on the IML has Imagine for Windows (IFW).
  114.   I don't sorted out this eMail's. In future Version's of Imagine for AMIGA
  115.   (IFA), perhaps, we can work with the same features like IFW. And some of
  116.   IFW-Stuff can be for interesting for IFA-users too.

  118. 3.This package is Giftware. I you like it, use it. If you think that my work

  128. 3.I selected manually all eMails posted to the IML. I only make a
  129.   surface-correction of the eMail. I don't take any warranty for the contents
  130.   of the texts or the validity of the inlcuded informations. Normally the
  131.   postings are controlled from a lot of peoples in the IML, so that the
  132.   validity is in common O.K. .
